Watch The Music Video For Pharrell’s First Original Jam From ‘Dope’

Fictional punk/hip-hop trio Awreeoh wipes out social media in the new clip for "Don't Get Deleted."

Ever wondered what it’d be like if social media suddenly shut down, and you and all your friends rioted by throwing an epic summer concert in a park?

Same. And that’s exactly what happens in this insanely fun new music video from Awreeoh, the fictional band from upcoming indie flick “Dope.”

Shameik Moore, Tony Revolori and Kiersey Clemons comprise the punk/hip-hop trio — which, by the way is pronounced Oreo, like the cookie. The band’s video for the menacing track “Don’t Get Deleted” was written and produced by Pharrell Williams, who also executive produced the film and curated its soundtrack.

The clip opens with a FaceTime call between Moore and “Workaholics” star Blake Anderson, who plays a friendly neighborhood hacker who insists “nobody really goes outside anymore.” He’s right, which is exactly why he turns off everyone’s social media accounts, forcing foot traffic into the park, where Awreeoh tears it up with “Don’t Get Deleted.” The catchy, angsty jam inspires an all-out rager, complete with fake news footage that declares “Youth Out of Control.”

“Dope,” which hits theaters June 19, stars Moore as a punk rock/‘90s hip hop-loving brainiac from Inglewood with Harvard aspirations. Anderson, Zoe Kravitz, and A$AP Rocky round out the star-studded cast.

The film’s soundtrack drops June 16 and boasts three more original Awreeoh songs that Pharrell wrote himself, as well as tracks by Nas, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, Kravitz’s band Lolawolf, and more.
