Arrest Warrant Issued For Game After Basketball Game Fight

The altercation happened back in March.

Things turned tense during a basketball game earlier this year, and now Game could be facing legal trouble as a result.

According to TMZ, a judge has issued a warrant for the rapper's arrest, after the Los Angeles County D.A. charged him this week with one count of making criminal threats.

The incident in question happened back in March during a hoops a game. The site obtained a video that appears to show the Compton native hitting another man, but that's not what could have him in trouble here. Instead, it's the fact that he reportedly said, "I'm going to kill you" to that other man -- who happened to be an off duty LAPD officer. That, it seems, is the "criminal threat" in question.

Shortly after the incident, though, Game said he was simply acting in self defense. TMZ reported that the rapper claimed the man suggested he had a gun in his bag, and that he squared up to fight first, before Game threw a punch.

About a week after the game, the off-duty cop filed a suit against the MC, according to TMZ, saying that the punch may have caused brain damage.

MTV News reached out to reps for Game for comment, but has not heard back as of press time.
