In a conversation with "The Force Awakens" actor Domhnall Gleeson, who graces the cover of this month's Interview Magazine, Jolie confessed that she's a giant fan of the mysterious bounty hunter Boba Fett. "Can Boba Fett have a missus?" she said, when Gleeson joked that he'd tell the writers to add in a part for her. "Well, put in a good word for me, then."
Now, now, Angelina! Don't sell yourself short -- you don't have to settle for Boba Fett's love interest when you can PLAY Boba Fett yourself! Here's why we think it's a great idea:
Boba Fett doesn't have to be Boba Fett anymoreLucasfilm
Take this with a grain of Mandalorian salt, but rumor has it that Boba Fett will be the focus of another "Star Wars" spin-off movie -- except, it's not the Boba Fett you know. It would be a new character who takes over the mantle of Boba, Dread Pirate Roberts style, and hunts down bounties in his stead. Hey, you know who'd be a great lead for that? Angelina Jolie.
Leia's totally done the same thing.Lucasfilm
"But won't it be obvious if a lady is wearing bounty hunter armor that's supposed to be for a man?" Well, was it obvious when Leia strolled into Jabba's lair wearing the stolen armor of a guy from "The Empire Strikes Back?" (AKA Boushh, for the nerds.) No, it wasn't? Cool, that problem's solved.
And so did Boba Fett himself, come to think of it.Lucasfilm
He first took over his father Jango's armor when he was killed in battle during "Episode II: Attack of the Clones." And c'mon, you know how "Star Wars" likes to recycle themes in their movie. Wouldn't it be fitting if somebody new took the title of head Fett from Boba?
Angelina's taken over roles for dudes before.Sony Pictures
Remember "Salt?" That part was originally written for Tom Cruise. So, yeah, not only can Jolie do action movies, but she can ALSO snatch parts away from male actors like it ain't no thang.
Lastly and most importantly, it's her BIRTHDAY today!
Are you going to deny a famous actor-turned-UN representative-turned director on her BIRTHDAY, Disney? For shame.
