Wait… Is Nicki Minaj’s ‘Favorite’ About Jeremih Or Meek Mill?

Apparently Spyders are really popular cars.

On Nicki Minaj’s stellar third album The Pinkprint, “Buy a Heart” — the song featuring her main man Meek Mill — is preceded by a romantically charged track co-starring a different collaborator: Jeremih. Nicki teamed up with the “Don’t Tell ‘Em” artist for “Favorite,” a ride-or-die jam that he recently revealed is poised to be the album’s next single.

Along with dropping that exciting new piece of info, Jeremih opened up to InStyle about what it was like to work with Queen Barb herself — and he had nothing but glowing compliments for her.

“She’s just one of a kind,” he spilled. “When it comes to collaborating with her, she just brings that female swagger.”

But as it turns out, things got off to a bit of an awkward start after Jeremih initially assumed the track was about him.

“When I heard the actual song, I thought she was talking about me,” he admitted. “I thought I was her favorite. So the whole time, when I heard the verse, I was like, ‘Damn!’”

Apparently, the line that had him confused was “I just wanna be ya rider, you should pull up in that Spyder.”

“I’ve got a Spyder! But then I found out that she got with Meek, and he’s got a Spyder too,” Jeremih said. Classic mistake.

Besides his contribution to “Favorite,” Jeremih also featured on The Pinkprint’s ego-stroking, flex zone track “Want Some More,” where Nicki confidently calls out her haters. Jeremih insists the tone of that track isn’t all talk and no game — he considers the Young Money rapper the best woman in the biz.

“She’s just dope,” he said. “Out of this whole wide world, I don’t know one female that can give her a run for her money right now. So it feels good to be able to work with someone like that.”

If working with Nicki was as amazing as Jeremih claims, hopefully he soaked up some of that inspiration to fuel his next project. Fans have been eagerly awaiting his new album Late Nights, which is scheduled to drop in July.
