Basically anyone that goes to the Barclays Center, whether for a sporting event or concert, probably jokes about running into Jay Z, the Brooklyn native who was once a part owner of the arena.
Ed Sheeran, though, actually did hang out with Jay Z and Beyoncé after his Sunday show in Barclays.
Now, maybe you're thinking, Ed is famous, too, so it's not really a big deal. You'd be wrong, though. The singer was glowing about his high-profile hang -- which he called "really random" -- on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Monday.
"I grew up listening to them, and then suddenly I was just sitting across, eating a slice of pizza like, 'Alright. What's going on?!'" he said with a childish laugh.
It didn't stop with New York slices, though.
"I didn't really know what they'd be up for, so I was just like, 'My mate owns a dive bar, if you wanna go and do some shots?'" And they did. "We turned up, and there was a folk jam going on, and we jammed some folk.
"They're the coolest, coolest people," he continued. "Like, just completely open; they're just open to whatever."
Ed's pretty cool himself, and can make just about any song sound like a smooth love ballad, as he proved during a different segment on the show, when he covered Ty Dolla $ign, Limp Bizkit and some heavy metal.
We're gonna need to hear "Drunk in Love" next time. Oh, and a Jay x Bey x Ed collab.
