Suge Knight's Murder Trial Is Getting Delayed Thanks To Michael Jackson's Lawyer

And he wants the charges dismissed.

Another day, another lawyer for Suge Knight, as he prepares to stand trial for murder for his alleged role in a hit-and-run incident from earlier this year.

According to the Associated Press, the rap mogul hired attorney Thomas Mesereau, who is the same lawyer who defended Michael Jackson when he faced child molestation charges in 2005. Mesereau will be Knight's fourth lawyer since his January arrest.

As a result of the switch, the judge delayed a motion to dismiss the trial until July 7. He pleaded not guilty in February.

Mesereau complained to the judge that Knight has been denied family visits and phone calls. "I don't think he's being treated humanely," he said. Outside of the court, he added that he is "convinced he is innocent."

During an April hearing, Cle “Bone” Sloan, who suffered two broken ankles in the incident, took the stand but failed to point the finger at the Death Row Records founder.

“I don’t want it to get misconstrued that I told on this man,” he said. “I’m no snitch. I will not be used to send Suge Knight to prison... I can’t say this man ran me over." According to Rolling Stone, Knight's team hopes to use this to have the case dismissed.

If convicted, he could face up to life in prison.
