This Teen’s Senior Yearbook Quote Just Won High School

Her quote is literally one for the books.

With senior yearbook quotes, there will always be the usual suspects: "Live, laugh, love," "be yourself -- everyone else is already taken," the list goes on. They're all good and well intended, of course, but one recent grad's stands out for raising some pretty pertinent issues in the most clever way.

Caitlyn Cannon, who just graduated from Oak Hills High School in California, told the Huffington Post that she had found a quote on Tumblr "and changed the parts that were written from a man's perspective." The result? A totally amazing, tongue-in-cheek feminist truthbomb about the wage gap -- and it's now been retweeted over 7,000 times.

She wrote:

"I need feminism because I intend on marrying rich and I can't do that if my wife and I are making .75 cent for every dollar a man makes."

"I was tired of seeing the same old quotes from popular books and movies and authors, and I wanted to call attention to a problem that women face," she said, "I've never really been ashamed to say that I am gay, so the LGBT aspect was simply who I am."

Of her recent Internet fame, Caitlin said:

Just a unicorn of a human being.
