Things Get 'Tricky' For Salt-N-Pepa On 'Lip Sync Battle'

Who's the better lip syncer, Salt or Pepa?

For rappers Salt-N-Pepa, last night's epic "Lip Sync Battle" was a dream come true.

The female MCs both chose pop anthems in Round 1 -- Salt, Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone," and Pepa, Katy Perry's "Firework." For some of their fans, it may have seemed like an odd choice. For Salt and Pepa, however, it was a chance to live out their diva fantasies. "We can't sing, so we've been wanting to do this for years," Salt said, "It's exhilarating."

Both performances were truly one of a kind, but Pepa definitely edged out her longtime partner. Homegirl sashayed across the stage like a true pop diva.

In Round 2, Salt turnt it up with a spot-on performance of Run-D.M.C.'s "It's Tricky" -- complete with the rap group's signature track suits! The gaggle of male backup dancers didn't hurt either.

But as we've seen on "Lip Sync Battle," the competitor who isn't afraid to go outside their comfort zone is usually the one who gets the Championship belt in the end, and Pepa pulled out every theatric to prove she could have been a disco queen in the second round. Donning a sequined jumpsuit, Pepa channeled in her inner disco diva with a rousing performance of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" -- and it was pretty magical.

In the end, Pepa's flair for theatrics edged out Salt's "keepin' it real" strategy. TBH, we think this should have been the show's first tie because both of these MCs brought the flames.
