Based on Cassandra Clare's bestselling "Mortal Instruments" book series, "Shadowhunters" follows a young woman named Clary Fray, who discovers on her 18th birthday that she comes from a long line of angel-human demon-killing hybrids called Shadowhunters.
ABC Family is on the set of their highly anticipated new series, and because they're literal angel humans, they're documenting everything for fans.
Here's Katherine McNamara (Clary) and Alberto Rosende (Simon) looking like actual BFFs on the Toronto set. In "Shadowhunters," Simon and Clary are a bit older; Simon is an accounting student in his early 20s and Clary, 18, is a promising art student.
In Clare's "Mortal Instruments" series, Simon and Clary have been best friends for years. When we're first introduced to Simon, he's struggling to tell Clary how he really feels about her -- aka he wants to be more than BFFs. But when Clary's introduced to the Shadow World, her entire life gets turned upside down -- and Simon comes along for the ride.
Next, we have our first sneak peek into the Clave, the governing body of the Shadow World, made up of active Shadowhunters. The Clave decides on important matters that affect the Shadowhunters, also known as Nephilim in the Shadow World. It's pretty interesting that the series already has a set built for the Clave.
Last, but certainly not least, director McG gave fans an exciting first look at their OTP Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and Clary (McNamara). Excuse us. But we need someone to call the police and the fireman because they're TOO HOT. (Hot damn.)
The only thing missing from set is the High Warlock of Brooklyn himself, Magnus Bane (Harry Shum Jr.) When do we get our first look at the Downworlders, guys?!
