The Killers Are The Best Band Of The Last 15 Years... Says The Killers' Brandon Flowers

Humble much?

In a new interview with The Independent, seems like The Killers' Brandon Flowers could maaaybe use a slice of humble pie.

"Whether the people want to accept it or not, we might be the best band in the last long time!" he said, sounding not unlike, say, Kanye West. "I’d go up any night against just about any band that’s come out in the last 15 years. Not that it’s a competition, but I do feel sometimes people don’t have a grasp on what we’ve accomplished and what we’ve acquired. Everyone should come see The Killers! We’re more than just a New Wave revival thing."

Okay, so maybe the dude's just giving his band a little credit where credit is due. From their 2004 debut Hot Fuss onward, the Killers have explored genres from 80s new wave to Bruce Springsteen- style Americana, and that's something few popular bands have done in recent years.

But the "best band in a long time?" Hmmm. What do you think?

Flowers also discusses the aforementioned Mr. West, Anglophilia, and his new solo record in the thought-provoking interview.
