Distraught. Verklempt. Hopelessly depressed. Those are just some of the ways we were feeling earlier this month after FOX crushed us by abruptly canceling “The Mindy Project.” Thankfully, the show was rumored to be shopped around other networks, and now it has officially found a brand new home.
Streaming service Hulu announced today (May 15) that it’ll stream the show’s fourth season at 26 new episodes. The premiere date has yet to be announced, but you can marathon the whole series in the meantime — Hulu has already acquired the exclusive rights for the show’s earlier seasons.
Series creator and star Mindy Kaling said in a statement, “I am thrilled ‘The Mindy Project’ has found a new home on Hulu, where so many of our fans are already watching the show. It’s such an exciting place to be.”
Kaling also tweeted her excitement with an adorable cast pic showing her character’s growing baby bump — yipee!
Even though “The Mindy Project” wasn’t a huge ratings hit for FOX, it also boasted a diehard fan base that campaigned fiercely on its behalf. Needless to say, fans are thrilled about the opportunity to see their fave bubbly sleep shopper tie the knot with Danny and become a mom for the first time.
