It was less than two years ago that Drake was appointed the ambassador of the Toronto Raptors, but his effect his everywhere, from the team players' sneakers, to their merch and now, quite possibly, the uniforms. According to The Fader, the Raptors—who had a not-so-successful redesign last year that Drake distanced himself from—are undergoing a makeover once again.
If a mock-up is to be believed, the team will reportedly be receiving four new uniforms: one home, one away, and two alternates for away games, one of which is called the "Drake," which is done up in October's Very Own signature gold and black. Color-wise, the alternate uniform fits right into the lookbook for OVO's Mitchell & Ness collaboration, where designer Oliver El-Khatib put forth modern takes on nostalgic looks.
There's one thing about it that issurprising, though—it looks like Drake gave in to the new claw logo he didn't seem to be feeling at the end of last year. Maybe he warmed up to it? [Insert joke about Drake's fondness for warm ups here.]
According to ESPN, the new uniforms are scheduled to hit for the 2015-16 season, so it won't be that long until we get to see if the "Drake" uniform is real.
