James McAvoy has been planning to shave his head for months, and now, he's finally taken the plunge. Here's our first glimpse of Professor X rocking his trademark bald scalp for the next X-Men movie, "X-Men: Apocalypse."
Back in September, McAvoy revealed that "Apocalypse" would be the first movie to show his character Charles Xavier with the bald look he's famous for in the "X-Men" comics. Yesterday (May 8), director Bryan Singer posted a photo of the 36-year-old actor losing the last few strands of his formerly full head of hair.
The newly shorn Professor X will make his return to the big screen when "X-Men: Apocalypse" comes out on May 27, 2016. The superhero flick will also star returning players Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Rose Byrne, and it'll add a roster of new mutants like Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, and Alexandra Shipp as Storm.
McAvoy's locks will have probably grown back by this time next year—not that he looks bad without them.
