The suave surfer -- also known for his role on "One Tree Hill" -- is again showing off his acting chops in the musical "Summer Forever." The plot for the feel-good feature: Three life-long best friends (Megan Nicole, Alyson Stoner and Anna Grace Barlow) vow to make their last weekend of summer -- before beginning "adult life" and commencing college -- the most epic of their lives with a special "YOLO" pact. With just 48 hours remaining before they go down their separate paths, the gals sing, dance, break rules, chase boys and experience a weekend that will solidify their friendship forever.
Nicole's tune "Summer Forever" serves as the inspiration for the Roman White-directed flick, which is the first-ever feature-length digital movie produced by Relativity Digital Studios. Stoner, meanwhile, is known for her Missy Elliott music video fame and the "Step Up" film series, and Barlow can be seen in "Young & Hungry," "Scream Queens" and MTV's very own "Faking It." Ryan McCartan ("Liv & Maddie" and "Royal Pains") and Daphne Zuniga ("Melrose Place" and "One Tree Hill") are also featured.
As for SC, the actor is portraying a record label employee -- fans actually got the opportunity to select the name of the company Starmaggedon Records -- and he revealed in the interview clip below that he's always been fascinated by the music industry. (Even though he's excited to report that he won't be crooning for the cameras).
"I'm a big music fan," the 29-year-old explains. "I've always been curious of the ins and outs of the business, so the opportunity to play an A&R guy, a label guy if you will, was something that jumped out at me right away."
Lauren Conrad's longtime friend also shared a sneak peek Instagram snapshot from the set.
"Austin. All that stands between you and a record deal. @sumr4evr," Stephen added. Slightly mysterious -- and we like it.
