Kris Humphries Apologizes For Insensitive Jab At Bruce Jenner

Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband clarified the meaning behind his snarky tweet, saying he was ‘too vague.’

After Bruce Jenner’s emotional “20/20” interview Friday night (April 24) — during which he revealed his years-long battle with his gender identity — many viewers took to Twitter to offer their congratulations and support.

While most comments were overwhelmingly positive, there was one eyebrow-raising response that caused a ton of backlash — and it came from none other than Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kris Humphries.

The tweet, which was posted just after the interview aired on ABC, reads, “Man, I’m glad I got out when I did. #Gottadoyou.”

Many users fired back at the NBA player’s assumed jab at Jenner by pointing out that Kim was the one who broke off their 72-day marriage in 2011. Other users simply called him out on his supposed intolerance, flooding his mentions with biting comments of their own.

Today, Humphries apologized and clarified his remarks, tweeting, “I have and always will support Bruce hence #Gottadoyou. Now I recognize I was too vague and sincerely apologize for the way this came across.” He followed up with another tweet simply containing the hashtag, “#FullySupportBruce”

If that’s really how he felt (and we hope it is), perhaps that’s what he should’ve said the first place. Nevertheless, the hashtag speaks for itself.
