In “Pitch Perfect,” the Barden Bellas tackled Jessie J’s uplifting jam “Price Tag” during their final performance medley. Now, it looks like things have come full circle because Jessie has returned the flattery with an original new song for “Pitch Perfect 2.”
The British pop star has debuted the stunning music video for “Flashlight,” in which she fully implants herself in the world of Barden University. Rocking leather overalls, a sleek bob, and siren-red nails, Jessie belts out the Sam Smith and Sia-penned ballad in the middle of the school’s courtyard before treating students to a breathtaking moonlight concert.
Never-before-seen clips from “Pitch Perfect 2” are also dispersed throughout the video, including one in which Rebel Wilson comforts a crying Anna Kendrick (which we really hope doesn’t hint at trouble for Beca and Jesse!).
Besides appearing on the film’s soundtrack, “Flashlight” will also be featured in the movie. Jessie told ET, “Everyone loves to sing, and everyone loves to sing songs that they know. What’s so great about this movie, there's a twist. The big song, the big finale, the big final song is a song that no one knows, which is ‘Flashlight.’”
Yep, this is definitely making us even more psyched for “Pitch Perfect 2.” Is it May 15 yet?!
