Child Star Sawyer Sweeten Dead At Nineteen

The 'Everybody Loves Raymond' star died of an apparent suicide.

This news simply couldn't be sadder.

A rep for Sawyer Sweeten confirmed today (April 23) that the actor has passed away at age nineteen. As a child, Sawyer portrayed Geoffrey Barone on the long-running sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond." His real-life siblings, sister Madylin Sweeten and twin brother Sullivan Sweeten, also played his siblings on the Emmy-winning series.

Reports claim that while visiting family in Texas, Sweeten committed suicide with a gunshot wound to the head.

The Sweeten family released a statement confirming the terrible news. “This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred. We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday,” the statement reads. “At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love.”

Additionally, 23-year-old Madylin shared her heartbreak via Facebook, writing, "At this time I would like to encourage everyone to reach out to the ones you love. Let them have no doubt of what they mean to you."
