Beyonce’s Mom Says Blue Ivy Convinced Her To Get Married

Three years old and already inspiring a world full of love.

When Beyoncé and Jay Z welcomed daughter Blue Ivy in 2012, a lot of people speculated about what kind of imprint she’d leave in the world. Would she grow up to be an influential and visionary tastemaker like her famous parents?

Three years later, we’re starting to get an idea, thanks to the revelation that little Blue is harnessing her powers to bring love and matrimony into the world.

In a new interview with People, Bey’s mom, Tina Knowles, opened up about her recent wedding to Richard Lawson. Besides making our jaw drops with some seriously ***flawless pics from her big day, the blushing new bride also revealed it was Blue who pushed Tina to tie the knot.

“[In September] we went on a boat with Beyoncé and Jay Z for her birthday, and when we came out one night dressed to go to dinner, Blue said, ‘Oh, y’all look beautiful. When are y’all getting married?” Knowles told the mag. “Richard said, ‘Oh, Blue, soon. Do you approve?’ And she said yes. That’s the first time we talked seriously about getting married.”

Seven months later, the couple got married in Newport Beach, California, in a yacht ceremony where Blue served as the flower girl.

“To walk down the aisle and see all my friends and family and to see my handsome man standing there, and to know that at 61 you can still find love and have a magical day like that…it was really beautiful,” Knowles said, adding, “You can find love at any age. You just have to go for it.”

And apparently, you also have to have a little push from a certain pint-sized Cupid. No word yet on whether Blue will bestow her blessings upon other couples, but if she does, Harry Styles and I call dibs on being first in line.
