This 'Spider-Man' News Is Going To Make 'Lego Movie' Fans Feel Awesome

Everything is... well, you know.

Are you ready for more awesome, "The Lego Movie" fans? Ready for more web-slinging action, Spider-Man lovers? Because Sony just announced some news that will make both of your fun-loving, dedicated fan bases happy -- an animated Spider-Man film that's part of the Marvel universe, written and produced by "Lego Movie" helmers Phillip Lord and Chris Miller.

Sony's brand new chairman Tom Rothman announced the news to hundreds of theater owners, members of the press and more at the studio's CinemaCon presentation on Wednesday (April 22), adding that the best words to describe the project were "f--king awesome."

Also f--king awesome is news that the film will hit on July 20, 2018, while Sony and Marvel's yet-to-be-cast live action "Spider-Man" will swing into theaters on July 28, 2017. No word yet on how Lego Batman feels about Lord and Miller abandoning him for more Marvel-esque pastures.
