Who’s Better At Twitter, Iron Man or The Hulk? Ranking The Avengers' IRL Internet Skills
The press tour for "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is close to wrapping up soon, just in time for the movie to FINALLY premiere in theaters after what feels like a century. In the meantime, at least we can make the wait more fun by following our favorite superheroes vicariously through their Twitter and Instagram pages!
But who from the Avengers is the most adept at handling their social media responsibility? Let's take a look at their online histories and see which superhero is the most super tweeter.
6. Chris Hemsworth
The Mighty God of Thunder literally JUST got a Twitter account right before the "Age of Ultron" press tour started, so he has a lot of catching up to do compared to the rest of his buddies. But so far, he's off to a pretty decent start, mostly retweeting from the other Avengers and having people take pictures of him on the red carpet:
5. Jeremy Renner
Renner has a frequently updated Twitter page, Facebook and Instagram, but he manages them all using WhoSay -- and tends mostly to upload other people's images of him, which makes the fact that Whosay automatically puts his own copyright notice on it kinda weird. C'mon, Renner, you didn't take this picture of a volcano in Chile! You weren't even there!
Still, at least he adds a bit of color to the images with his sparkling wit -- which, let's admit, sometimes sounds like the sort of stuff your parents would write on THEIR Facebook pages.
4. Chris Evans
Evans was savvy enough to lock down his own Facebook page but almost never uses it himself. Instead you can find him on Twitter -- he tweets pretty infrequently, using his platform mostly to highlight his favorite self help books, support his friends and family, or sometimes talk about goofy stuff like doritos.
But he's ESPECIALLY prolific when he has somebody to egg him on, like "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt during this year's Super Bowl:
This most recent press tour also has him getting in to the selfie game something fierce, too:
3. Robert Downey Jr.
Well right off the bat, his Twitter bio is amazing:
And it only gets better from there. Despite only just having joined Twitter in April 2014, RDJ is already a pro at fun, goofy self-promotion.
Like, seriously, the dude goes all out.
He's also got a Facebook page where he shares awesome artwork from fans, and an Instagram where he makes sure to get extra professional:
2. Mark Ruffalo
Not only has Ruffalo been on Twitter the longest of anybody (since 2009!), he uses his celebrity status for good by promoting social justice, renewable energy, and "going green." Which is pretty fitting, when you think about it.
And, of course, he also engages with fans.
And he's not just on Twitter! He's also got a separate Instagram...
Plus a Facebook page (where of course he individually thanks people for contributing to his favorite charity, Water Defense), and even a TUMBLR of all things, where he reblogs Science Bros content and makes jokes about himself and the other Avengers.
1. Scarlett Johansson
Yeah, I know what you're saying: Scarlett Johansson doesn't HAVE any social media accounts, so how can she be the best at it? Because the character she plays in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an aloof, mysterious spy who keeps secrets from everyone else in the group. So when you think about it, she's the most method actor of them all.
Will you be there cheering all the Avengers on when "Age of Ultron" heads to theaters on May 1st?
