'Terminator Genisys' Is The Arnold/Khaleesi Team-Up You Never Knew You Needed

At Las Vegas' fifth annual CinemaCon on Tuesday (April 21), hundreds of eager theater owners, reporters and more were given an extra special treat during Paramount's presentation -- brand new footage from the fifth installment of the "Terminator" franchise, "Terminator Genisys," introduced by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger himself.

Pretty much everything we saw from Lee Byung-hun's terrifying, metallic T-1000 cyborg to Jason Clarke's cyborg-hybrid John Connor was thrilling, but there's really one main reason why you should be excited to see this flick come July 1: because it features the Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen from "Game of Thrones") and Schwarzenegger friendship you never knew you needed.

Sure, we also saw really great footage of Jai Courtney's Kyle Reese going back in time to prevent Judgement Day via teaming up with Clarke's Sarah Connor, but nothing quite compares to seeing the woman formerly known as Khaleesi kick ass side-by-side with one of Hollywood's greatest living legends. Together they fight numerous cyborgs, nearly take a flight off the Golden Gate Bridge, and also manage to be a bit hilarious as Sarah -- who was raised by Arnold's T-800 in this timeline -- tries to convince the various humans in their path that not all Terminators are bad.

It was only several minutes of footage that we saw today at CinemaCon, but overall, the incredible visual effects, the rebooted timeline (it worked for "X-Men: Days of Future Past") and the focus on Arnold -- who was absent from 2009's "Terminator Salvation" -- and one of the most capable and beloved female stars on television has us hoping that "Genisys" will be as great as the first couple of films in the "Terminator" franchise.

Just next time, be sure to show us a little Matt Smith, okay?
