I'm pretty sure that most everyone would characterize an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a "winner," but, you know, Green Day might beg to differ. Or, at least, Dookie-era Green Day.
"There's nothing wrong with being a loser -- just depends on how good you are at it," Billie Joe Armstrong told MTV in this vintage footage we dug up from "120 Minutes" in honor of the band's latest coup.
Yup, a little more than 20 years after this interview was conducted, the guys have proven themselves to be masters at being losers -- at least the early '90s stylized variety -- as they're joining Lou Reed, Joan Jett and more as part of 2015's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class. This was the first year that Green Day was eligible to be inducted.
Before Saturday night's big ceremony -- during which the dudes will be ushered in by Fall Out Boy -- check out more of what '90s-era Green Day had to say about their sound above. I believe the words "good sex" were thrown around. Also "apathetic."
