Kat Graham is bringing us way way back to '90s, and we're loving it.
The "Vampire Diaries" actress dropped the music video for her latest single, "1991," and we get to go to the ultimate '90s-themed house party, complete with some of our favorite trends from the decade -- from cut-off jean shorts to colorful leather jackets to FUBU bucket hats and mesh tops.
As the video unfolds, a guy is trying to get Kat's attention but all she wants to do is dance, and who can blame her, when the track sounds like a mix of TLC, Paula Abdul and Aaliyah? Graham eventually has a full-on old-school dance-off, before getting all Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes on us and dropping a rap verse that references Brandy and Monica's '90s smash "The Boy Is Mine."
If you're "old-school lovin'" this song, then get ready, because Kat -- who's putting out her next record on her own after leaving Interscope Records over lack of creative control -- promises that the 1990s will be a prominent theme throughout her entire album.
“My biggest peeve and worry -- I didn’t want people to think, ‘Oh, it’s so kitschy, contrived,'” she recently told MTV News. “No, I produced a record. I wrote the f--king record. I’m putting it out on my label. I’m doing it my way. The whole album is ’90s-inspired.”
