Young Thug's Carter 6 Is Coming Before Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V

We have many questions.

This is no longer a drill.

For months, since Young Thug first announced his intentions to continue Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter series, with albums VI through X, we had to believe -- or, at least, wanted to -- that those would arrive after Weezy's final Carter album. But while that project, Tha Carter V, has been stuck in limbo as Wayne dukes it out with his label, Thugger apparently has no intentions of delaying his own rollout.

On Tuesday night, the rapper posted what appears to be an album cover on Instagram, along with the caption "#c6otw 4/17."

Carter VI to X,” Thug told MTV News in September, standing next to Cash Money boss, and Wayne father-turned-foe, Birdman. “He did I to V, I’m gonna do VI to X.”

As we continued to wait on Tha Carter V, it wasn't clear whether or not Thug's subsequent installment would arrive before Tuenchi's, but it became apparent how serious his intentions were last month, when he previewed two new songs on Instagram, along with the caption, #CARTER6 OTW."

At the time, his label, 300 Entertainment, tweeted about the release.

Then last week, Thug dropped his new single, "Check," which you can listen to below.

So, get ready for Young Thug's Carter VI on Apr. 17.
