After whetting our appetites with the hyper-addictive single “I Want You to Know” and a series of color-themed parties around the country, Zedd is finally dropping deets about his upcoming sophomore album.
On Tuesday (April 7) the German producer revealed the album is titled True Colors and is slated for release on May 19. He also unveiled its trippy cover design, which is suitably reminiscent of the “I Want You to Know” single artwork.
According to a press release, Zedd executive-produced and co-wrote all the songs on the album, which is his follow-up to 2012’s Clarity. Featured vocalists are slated to be announced in the coming weeks (and we’re secretly keeping our fingers crossed for another track featuring his rumored lady, Selena Gomez!).
In an impressively creative and on-theme promotional campaign, Zedd has been building up anticipation for his forthcoming album with color-themed events. He hosted an epic, purple-themed cave party at SXSW, where he premiered the album’s opener, “Addicted to Memory.” Next up was an orange-themed desert bash in Joshua Tree where he introduced “Straight Into the Fire” while engulfing a giant 'Z' in flames. And most recently, he threw a yellow-themed affair at Lake Pleasant, where he debuted “Bumble Bee.”
Blue, green, red, indigo, and every other color in the rainbow: Zedd is comin’ for ya!
