Christina Hendricks Tells Us Why Ryan Gosling Is Basically A Homeless Person

Plus, find out the scoop on your next "Gone Girl," "Dark Places."

With reporting by Nicole Pajer.

In 2014, Ryan Gosling boldly went to where no other Ryan Gosling had ever gone before him -- to the director's chair, for his soon-to-be-released fantasy noir flick "Lost River." "Mad Men" star Christina Hendricks came along for the ride in the leading role, so when MTV News caught up with her during a press day for the hit series' final season, we just had to ask: what's one thing about Ryan Gosling that would surprise even his biggest fans?

Apparently, it's all about the footwear.

"He seems to wear the same boots every single day," Hendricks said. "So long that now he just wears silver duct tape around them. I think he can afford new shoes, but you wouldn't know it."

Of course we also asked Hendricks about "Dark Places," the latest film adaptation from a Gillian Flynn ("Gone Girl") novel. In the film, Hendricks will play the mother of Charlize Theron's character -- in flashbacks, anyway, since said mother and the rest of Theron's family were murdered by what was believed to be a satanic cult. It's pretty heavy stuff, and lucky for fans of Flynn, Hendricks says it won't stray too far from the source material.

"A lot of people are fans of [Flynn's] work, and it's definitely true to her book," Hendricks explained. "It's very suspenseful. It's beautifully shot, and Charlize is great in it. I actually play her mother, in flashbacks. I'm a mother, and a farmer, trying to provide for my children, and I've got a messed-up husband who is messing with our family. It's dark, I'm excited."
