OK, we have good news and we have bad news -- and we're going to assume you want the good news first. Eminem has new music and we couldn't be more excited; the bad news is, it may be a little while before you get to hear it in full.
Lucky for us though, the Rap God decided to bless us with a snippet of his new tune at the end of a trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal's new Antoine Fuqua-directed flick "Southpaw." Em hopped on Twitter on Friday morning (Mar. 27) and perked our ears when he wrote: "Sneak peek of some new stuff I've been working on in the @SouthPawMovie trailer. World premiere!"
So of course we clicked the link and sat at the edge of our seats as Gyllenhaal -- who plays lefty boxing champ Billy "The Great" Hope -- falls from grace after his wife's tragic death. It's the ultimate fighter flick, with appearances from 50 Cent and Rita Ora. No shade, but imagine how much better "Rocky" would've been with a 50 Cent cameo -- granted Fif was only a baby when "Rocky" was released, but you catch our drift.
We don't get the new Eminem song until the end and all we really hear is Slim shouting out "I am phenomenal" over a dramatic synth, but it's better than nothing, right?
While he's at it, maybe Em could drop a snippet for “Champions,” his upcoming collaboration with 50.
"Southpaw" hits theaters on July 31, 2015.
