Read J.K. Rowling's Perfect Response To This Fan Who Asked Why Dumbledore Is Gay

The 'Harry Potter' author always knows what to say.

Eight years ago, J.K. Rowling revealed that Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore is gay. Today, some "Harry Potter" readers still can't seem to believe it — and for those folks, Rowling has a message for you.

A "Potter" fan reached out to Rowling on Twitter yesterday, writing a since-deleted tweet: "Thank you so much for writing Harry Potter. I wonder why you said that Dumbledore is a gay because I can't see him in that way."

Rowling, well-known for interacting with her fans, and not one to shy away from talking about the intricacies of her characters, shot back with a simple reply that says everything that needs to be said about the topic:

Rowling's reply has drawn thousands of retweets and favorites, with even the original tweeter responding to thank her for her "amazing answer."

Of course, the tweeter went ahead and added, "I wish that McGonagall and Dumbledore are couple," so, lesson not totally learned. But hey, hard not to ship McGonagall with just about anyone. She's the best.
