The producer shared this interesting experience during Fader Fort’s SXSW showcase Saturday (March 21) when he premiered a Tink song that incorporates Aaliyah’s smash hit, “One In A Million.”
“I don’t touch any of my sister’s records,” he explained. "I don’t touch Baby Girl’s records. You know that’s Aaliyah...She spoke to me in my sleep and said, ‘She’s the one.’”
When Timbo said this, he pointed at Tink, who's already worked with the likes of Rick Ross and Jay Z. But this isn’t the first time he’s given her heavy praise.
“[Tink] saved my life,” Timbaland told The Breakfast Club in November. “She’s so young and I felt like, she got it. You can’t believe somebody at 19 got it. We don’t see that no more. The last person we saw [like her] was Drake...he’s really the real deal.”
The legendary producer also previewed more new songs during the set, which means we've got much more Timbo music to look forward to.
