Bebe Rexha's 'I'm Gonna Show You Crazy' Will Fill In For Your Best Friend: Watch

Bebe wants you to know being normal is boring. And bullsh-t.

You know that feeling you have after you have a good heart-to-heart convo with your friend? The feeling that you can move on and be great despite whatever's hurting you? Bebe Rexha's latest lyric video basically proves she's the truth-telling best friend you need in your life.

The vid for "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy" is an incredibly visually detailed, insightful look at the pressures of being perfect -- and the virtues of self-acceptance. Ultimately, the only thing that's crazy is apologizing for being yourself.

We have the exclusive premiere of "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy" below -- and at BebeRexha.mtv.com.

MTV News spoke to Bebe, who explained the different layers of the video and how each lyric in the song is meticulously represented visually.

"You have to actually slow the video down and look at each piece," she told us. "When it says 'and I don’t need your quick fix' the word ‘need’ is a microphone -- [it's] because I need music in my life. [And when it says] 'I’ve been searching for the missing piece' -- there is actually a chess piece in there."

According to Bebe, the lyric video highlights the damaging effects of the "quick fixes" people use to to help themselves conform to a socially constructed vision of perfection.

She hopes people connect with the message of "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy," which is that there's nothing wrong with you.

"The song isn't about being crazy," Bebe said, "it's not being mentally ill. It's about people making you feel like you're crazy 'cause you're overweight, skinny... you're this race, you're this religion. We're fighting to be ourselves in a world that's trying to make us like everyone else."

Bebe is currently working on the official music video with director Ryan Pallotta, whose resume includes the videos for "Neon Lights" and "Really Don't Care" by Demi Lovato.

We can't wait to see what those two awesome minds come up with. We'll be staying tuned (and in the meantime, playing the song on repeat).
