12 Songs Made Better By Ed Sheeran

From Frank Ocean to 5 Seconds of Summer, Ed turns every song he touches to gold.

Ed Sheeran's recent cover of Christina Aguilera's “Dirrty” left me needing more. Thankfully for me, the “Thinking Out Loud” singer has over 30 covers that can be found on YouTube. Whether he is performing covers on the Live Lounge, or while just having a few drinks with pal Leddra Chapman, I've compiled a few videos that are undeniably fantastic.

The cover king tackles a huge variety of different artists and songs, crossing through a number of music genres. How many other artists are so talented that they can successfully cover both Beyoncé and her hubby Jay-Z? That’s hella range for a single artist, am I right?! Ed writes his own songs, he writes other people’s songs, and he somehow even improves these awesome songs here.

  1. “Drunk In Love” - Beyoncé

Ed rocks this cover with Sia and Grouplove, but has an awesome solo version, too.

  2. “We Found Love”- Rihanna

We found so much love in this cover.

  3. “Royals”- Lorde

This is his “Royals” cover debut that he taught himself in only two minutes and 25 seconds. Yeah, we’re impressed.

  4. “No Diggity/Thrift Shop”- Blackstreet, Dr. Dre/Macklemore, Ryan Lewis

With help from Passenger, Ed gives Anna Kendrick and the rest of the Barden Bellas a run for their money when it comes to Blackstreet and Dr. Dre.

  5. “Take Me To Church”- Hozier

I didn’t think I could like this song any more, but then this happened.

  6. “Empire State of Mind”- Alicia Keys ft. Jay-Z

Tackling both Alicia Keys and Jay Z’s parts? Extra Impressive, Ed.

  7. “She Looks so Perfect”- 5SOS

Ok, now you’re just showing off. So good.

  8. “F--k You”- Cee-Lo Green

“Ed and I had a few beers and thought we should cover this,” Leddra Chapman said. This is exactly how I envisioned Ed’s spare time, and, well, it’s perfect.

  9. “Swim Good”- Frank Ocean

I’m requesting more Frank Ocean covers by Ed!

  10. “Wonderwall”- Oasis

    Ed’s my wonderwall.

  11. “The Real Slim Shady/Smoke Weed Everyday”- Eminem/Snoop Dogg

“Na na na na na- it’s the motha f—king E to the D!” So random and yet, still on repeat.

  12. “Do It Like A Dude”- Jessie J

“A little Jessie J in the hizzouse.” Ed, this only makes us love you more.

Seriously, is there anything he can’t do? What songs are on your Ed Sheeran cover wish list?
