Barbie is 56 years old today and still looks fabulous.
On March 9, 1959, Mattel put the fashionable blonde on display for the first time ever at the American Toy Fair in New York City. In the decades since then, Barbie's become one of the most famous dolls in the world, rocking thousands of iconic (mostly pink) outfits over the course of more than 130 career changes. She even made some high-profile celebrity friends along the way. Yup, some of our faves -- I totes have Hilary Duff -- get to hang in her Dreamhouse.
