The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes Turns Up The Retro Vibes On His Debut Solo Track: Listen

The former boy bander serves up a delicious blend of soul and pop on "More Than You'll Ever Know."

More than a year after British babes The Wanted announced their hiatus, Nathan Sykes has given fans a taste of his highly-anticipated solo material.

The 21-year-old unveiled “More Than You’ll Ever Know,” a catchy new tune from his upcoming debut album, as a free download on his Facebook page. He also tweeted, “My first single will be out in spring but as you’ve all been so amazingly patient I didn’t want you to wait until then.”

The soulful pop track features a jazzy horn section, sleek harmonies, and Sykes’ passionate falsetto as he croons, “Hey girl I’ve been thinking of you/Hey girl I don’t want no other/It’s a cold, cold world when I’m without you.”

Sykes spoke to MTV News in February about his budding solo venture, saying, “I’m far too young to put on hold my music career. I feel like I have a lot to give and I feel like I have a lot of music to write and a lot to prove as well.”

Judging by the new tune’s irrisistable retro vibe, he definitely seems to be on the right track and we can’t wait to see what else he has up his sleeve!
