Dylan O'Brien Speaks Out On Those Spider-Man Rumors

Will the 'Teen Wolf' star be leaving Beacon Hills to play Peter Parker?

Dylan O'Brien's "Teen Wolf" character Stiles has managed to avoid the much-feared werewolf's bite through the show's four seasons, and for now, it seems the actor is safe from any encroaching spider fangs, as well.

O'Brien, who was rumored to have secured the role of Peter Parker in the Marvel story's forthcoming reboot, told BuzzFeed News yesterday that, very regrettably, it's simply not the case.

"It makes me feel bad because I'm, like, disappointing a big chunk of fans across the nation," he said. "You can tell them that it's not true."

"It's so funny. My friends from New Jersey are calling me. They're like, 'What are you not telling me, dude?! Spider-Man?!'" he added.

So, guess you won't find O'Brien snapping shots for The Daily Bugle anytime soon, but he insists it'd be a dream job if the opportunity did ever actually roll around.

"It's nothing but flattering," he shared. "[But] it's never something I would want to get myself excited about, since I know I haven't heard about it from a professional standpoint. I've always wanted to play Peter Parker, obviously. I feel like [for] any actor my age, that's, like, a big thing."

What do you think of O'Brien's news? Bummed red-and-blue spandex aren't in his future, or are you happy that his feet are planted firmly in Beacon Hills? Sound off on the announcement, and stay tuned to MTV News for more info on the upcoming "Teen Wolf" season!
