"The Divergent Series: Insurgent" is still weeks away from hitting theaters, but fans of the beloved book-turned-movie franchise already have yet another major milestone to look forward to -- and no, I don't mean "Allegiant." Or "Allegiant -- Part 2."
Instead, the "Divergent" novels' author, Veronica Roth, announced via a HarperCollins release on Monday (March 2) that another YA book series was on its way... but this time, instead of hanging out in dystopia, Roth and her brilliant brain are going to space.
"In the untitled first novel of a highly anticipated duology in the vein of 'Star Wars,' Veronica Roth explores -- with poise and poignancy -- the story of a boy who forms an unlikely alliance with an enemy," the release says. "Both desperate to escape their oppressive lives, they help each other attain what they most desire: for one, redemption, and the other, revenge."
That's about all the detail we have for right now, but knowing that Roth is involved -- and that there's outer freaking space -- are pretty much all we need. The first book is set for publish in 2017, with the next installment to follow in 2018. And BRB, it's time to start mentally casting the big screen adaptation -- Ansel?!
