You Can Now Clone Your Pet, And You Don't Have To Feed It Or Take It For A Walk

Here's how to get a stuffed version of your animal. (No taxidermy required.)

Does your furry friend wake you up in the middle of the night? Lock it out of the bedroom and fall asleep with its plush doppelgänger instead.

That's right, your pet can live on forever in the form of a toy stuffed animal. All you have to do is send a photo to Cuddle Clones, and they'll make a plush replica of it.

The company charges $199 for dogs, cats and large animals like ponies, and $129 for birds, guinea pigs and the like. It takes a whopping eight months to complete an order, but that's the trade-off when buyers can decide on a host of customizable options, such as whether they want the doll's tongue in or out.

While the business originally began as an idea for continuing a pet's legacy after it dies, or allowing people far from home to stay connected with their four-legged friends, it turns out these toy clones are solid companions for the real-life versions. In fact, some of the plush toys are so accurate that they've even been known to freak out the subjects at first.

Don't even pretend like you wouldn't want to snuggle up to a squeezable toy version of yourself.
