Carly Rae Jepsen's Been 'Hiding In The Forests' For Two Years And Walked Out With Her New Single

The countdown to 'I Really Like You' is on.

Each and every day that passes brings us one step closer to Carly Rae Jepsen's new single, and I am beyond excited.

Like beyond.

The "Call Me Maybe" singer has officially announced her new single, "I Really Like You," with a letter to all of her fans telling them where she's been for the past "incredible 2 years. 3 years?" since her hit single.

"I've been hiding in forests where one meets a prince and dances till midnight," she said about her role in "Cinderella" on Broadway. "I've been cocooned in my Soho apartment, sipping tea with artists so weird and wonderful that only New York could keep them happy. I have been hiking to the tippy tops of L.A. peaks where I've said this out loud to no one…I'm ready."

Carly has been giving us glimpses into her "studio days" over the past few months, and in one of her most recent pictures she revealed that she's been working with Tegan and Sara.

"I Really Like You" will be her first single since her sophomore album, Kiss, was released in 2012. BTW, you should totally go back and listen to this album because it's pretty amazing.

The pop star recently shot the video for the single on the streets of New York City with the help of Justin Bieber and Tom Hanks.
