Lady Gaga Checks Into 'American Horror Story'... And Announces Next Season's Theme

Oh my Gaga.

Fresh off her universally praised Oscar moment, Lady Gaga is taking her talents to the small screen on the new season of Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story."

Mother Monster announced her involvement with the upcoming season on Twitter, where the "You and I" singer also revealed the highly anticipated title of season 5: "American Horror Story: Hotel."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gaga will be a series regular on "Hotel." This is the first confirmed casting for the season, but it's likely a few of our favorites from previous seasons will also be checking into Murphy's creepy "Hotel."

With Jessica Lange possibly out of the picture (sob) for season 5, we're happy Murphy tapped a strong leading lady like Gaga for "Hotel." We have no doubt she'll be able to command the screen just like she commands the stage.

Murphy is currently keeping the details of "Hotel" on lock (for now), but he did reveal one major hint back at the beginning of "American Horror Story: Freak Show": a top hat on Maggie’s coffee cup in Episode 4 of "Freak Show" was an "arcane," but "purposeful" clue. So does this somehow tie into Gaga's character? We'll have to wait and see.

However, we may have already figured out one piece of the puzzle. Seeing as this is the fifth installment for "AHS," it's likely the anthology will return to the present day for "Hotel." So... here's hoping Gaga's character is the estranged daughter of Lange's Elsa Mars because wouldn't you just love to hear her sing a David Bowie cover?!
