Apple Just Changed The Emoji Game By (Finally) Adding Some Diversity

It's a start?

Everyone loves using emojis, but we all pretty much agree that they are pretty lacking when it comes to diversity. Fortunately, it looks like that is going to change sooner rather than later.

The Next Web revealed a sampling of emoji you can locate in OS X 10.10.3 and iOS 8.3 beta 2. They have some standard images, like a man smiling or a thumbs up, but now they allow you to change the skin tone of the man or the hand. And it’s not like it just gives you the choice of two colors now – it gets more detailed than that -- you’re able to click to the skin color of your choosing.

They’ve also changed up the emoji for family. Along with an emoji showing a mom and dad and two kids, you can also show a family with two dads or two moms. And, likewise, you can change the skin color of the dads and moms. Apple is also releasing emoji of different countries' flags so that no matter where you live, you'll have a flag to share.

So, what do you think? Feel free to answer with an emoji if you want ;-) !
