13 Reasons Chrissy Teigen Was The Real Winner This Awards Season

If you didn't know who Chrissy was before this awards season, you definitely do now.

Okay, okay, so I know what you're probably thinking -- it was "Birdman" that won big this awards season, or Beck, or even Common and John Legend, for their Golden Globe and Oscar-winning song from "Selma," "Glory." And in many ways, you're right.

But when it really comes down to it, no one had this awards season on lock quite like model (and wife of Legend) Chrissy Teigen, who went from someone you might have seen retweeted a few times to a bona fide show-stealer all in the span of one very glamorous month.

So to honor Teigen's meteoric rise to the front row, here are the 13 reasons why she "won" the 2015 awards season:

  1. Because she always had the cutest (and most talented!) date.

A woman is nothing without her accessories -- JK, a woman is EVERYTHING without her accessories, because feminism -- and Chrissy started off awards season in style, with a kiss, at the Golden Globes.

  2. Because she snapped the best BTS moments.

Chrissy is a gift from God for many reasons, but mainly because her Tweets and Instas let us regular folk feel like we're right in the middle of the action. Like at the Globes, for example, when she let us know that even megastar men throw social convention to the wind when it comes to checking on the big game.

  3. Because she knew how to make fun of herself.

When the camera cut to Chrissy after Legend's first big win for Best Original Song at the Globes, her "cry face" was slightly... unrehearsed. Which is obviously completely normal, but the Internet blew up -- and after becoming a meme in mere minutes, Chrissy fired back with a good, hard laugh at herself.

  4. Because she understood the value of the photobooth.

    Nuff said.

  5. Because she made the coolest friends at the after parties.

    Meryl who?

  6. Because she took time out for the important things.

In between the Globes and the Grammys, there was the Super Bowl -- and even though Chrissy and Legend weren't playing for any awards at this well-loved sporting event, they still made an appearance... with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. At Waffle House. If that's not winning, I don't know what is.

  7. Because she met Beyonce.

Shame on you for blocking Chrissy and every girl's one true love, John. Shame on you.

  8. Because she made the best out of the actual worst.

Getting locked out universally sucks. Taking glamour shots in one's Grammy gown with one's husband -- who kicked ass onstage mere hours before -- does not.

  9. Because she took multiple selfies with the queen.

No one knows a selfie quite like Kim K. ... except for maybe Chrissy.

  10. Because she witnessed pure "Awesome"...

    Speechless.

  11. ... And even met the Possum!

Is "Awesome Possum" the next Left Shark? Only time will tell, but either way... Chrissy met them both.

  12. Because she channeled old-school glam like no one else.

Before I go on, know that we at MTV News love #AskHerMore and realize that Chrissy's wit, enthusiasm, and love for pop culture are what make her a true star. But she also looks freaking amazing, and that too deserves to be celebrated. ***flawless, Chrissy. Flawless.

  13. Because she got to eat a burger at the end.

What's the best part of the end of awards season for actresses? Getting to eat! This doesn't apply to Chrissy since she's a model, but she's also a model with a cooking show (MTV2's "Snack Off") and a food blog. Hate on her if you want, but we think that's pretty damn awesome -- and we sincerely hope that this burger was everything Chrissy could hope for, and more.
