We've been pretty patient up until now. But it's definitely time.
Lorde is finally booking some studio time to begin proper work on the follow up to her smash 2013 debut, Pure Heroine. Lorde's keeping things under wraps, but her producer, Joel Little, revealed some details during an interview with Australia's Triple J radio.
"We're gonna get in the studio again very soon. That's the plan, basically. We're just going to start writing some songs," Little said. "We haven't got some planned out 'this is what it's going to sound like'... I think we're just going to start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right. It's pretty simple really."
Though he wouldn't say it was going to happen, like, Tuesday, Heroine producer Little said the sessions are penciled in "really soon. Like within the next month or so we'll be in the studio."
Ella hasn't said much about the process so far, but we do know Joel tried to help her bust out of a case of writer's block thanks to some disco ball inspiration.
As for the pressure to compete with the multi-platinum debut, Little said you can't dwell on that. "You can't control what you're going to come up with on the day," he said. "If you think about it like that you're not going to come up with anything good. Some days you're in the studio and things don't click, you don't write anything good. And some days you're in the studio and things go great."
