Over the past few years, one woman has risen from the ashes like a beautiful, occasionally clumsy phoenix to breathe life into the charred and tainted corpse of the Academy Awards -- and I'm talking, of course, about Jennifer Lawrence. From her refreshing honesty when it comes to body image to her love of snacks to her infamous falls, three-time nominee (and one time winner!) JLaw has become the best and most meme-worthy part of the Oscars, which is why it's disappointing to hear that, as of press time, she is not confirmed to attend the 2015 ceremony.

... I know. Let that one sink in.

And look, hey, it's not like the Oscars are going to be a total wash -- we have Emma Stone and Anna Kendick to look forward to, after all. But if there's anything the 2011, 2013, and 2014 Oscar ceremonies have shown us, it's that the world is just a little bit brighter when there's more JLaw -- so to celebrate that, here are the nine reasons we'll miss JLaw at the Oscars (as well as Josh Hutcherson's response to her glaring absence...)

Because she has a natural born reaction face.

Need to find a celeb to cut to after a Neil Patrick Harris joke, camera guy? Choose JLaw, every time... except not, cause she won't be there.

Because she's always good for a laugh.

Even Seth MacFarlane probably got a laugh or two out of JLaw, and that's really saying something.

Because she's great at making friends.

Was JLaw's first meeting with Jack Nicholson a little bit creepy on his end? Sure. But she reacted like a total pro, making their interaction an instant Oscars classic.

... Like seriously. All the friends.

Leto on one side, Meryl on the other?! My photo in between Mom and Dad seems instantly less cool by comparison.

Because she knows the best movie references, and isn't afraid to use them.

It's from "First Wives Club" you guys. She wasn't insulting Meryl.

Because she has has her priorities in check.

"I'm seeing you talking, but all I can think about is getting fries."

Because of the falls.

It's not flying, it's falling -- with style.

When JLaw fell during her Best Actress win in 2013, it seemed like a one-time deal we would treasure forever. When she did it again on the carpet in 2014, it became a recurring phenomenon. We need more. We must have more.

Because she lets us know actresses are just as hungry as they look.

That "I eat pizza every day and still fit into a size-2 corset" thing is a myth, perpetuated by women who don't realize that they're doing more harm than good. JLaw is open and honest about her commitment to exercise year-round, and commitment to dieting during awards season. It's refreshing. Long live JLaw!
