So, 5SOS Have Been Hitting The Studio With Some Serious Hitmakers

Bonnie McKee? The Maddens? When is this album dropping.

After a whirlwind year during which they released their self-titled debut album and toured the world with One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer are hard at work on their next studio album.

The Aussie band have shacked up stateside to craft their sophomore effort, and they’ve been giving us some super-revealing glimpses into their work, which they promise will be “next level.”

Clearly, 5SOS are determined to make this album even radder than the first, so they’ve enlisted some famous hit makers to help them.

First, the guys shared some pics with veteran producer John Feldmann and Good Charlotte rockers (and twins) Benji and Joel Madden, who penned 5SOS' hit ballad “Amnesia.”

Drummer and noted bandana enthusiast Ashton Irwin told Billboard last year: “We’re really good friends with the Madden Brothers -- they played a massive part in influencing our music and everything. We wrote lots of songs with those dudes.”

Then, songwriter extraordinaire Bonnie McKee shared this sweet selfie with Ashton, saying they were “writing songs about sexy stuff.”

McKee co-wrote basically every Katy Perry hit under the sun, including “Teenage Dream,” “Roar,” and “California Gurls,” and she’s also crafted hits for Kesha, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, and Carly Rae Jepsen, among others.

Finally, Michael Clifford got his fanboy on when he tweeted a pic with Deryck Whibley, revealing that the Sum 41 frontman is also lending his songwriting talents to the boys.

With such an impressive array of talented people collaborating with 5SOS, there’s absolutely no doubt that their next album will be totally eargasmic (industry term).
