Chances are, if you were born sometime in the late '80s/early '90s, you can finish this sentence: "If you could gaze into the future, you might think life would be a ______."
There are few things as pivotal to our childhoods as the Disney Channel. Not only did the channel launch the careers of some of our favorite stars -- Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Hilary Duff, Shia LaBeouf, Selena Gomez, etc. -- but it also premiered a slew memorable TV shows that undoubtedly grabbed hold of a generation.
From "So Weird" to "Hannah Montana," the '00s were all about Disney, and with recent hits like "Girl Meets World" serving up a weekly dose of nostalgia, we can't seem to graduate from the House of Mouse. And if there's one thing every Disney Channel series is known for, it's an awesome opening theme. So obviously, we took a look back at those halcyon days and ranked our favorite Disney theme songs of past and present. See if your fave made the cut, below:
There weren't any lyrics! Lame.
"Cory in the House"
It was like the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" theme... but not.
"Good Luck Charlie"
Real talk: who has that many picture frames on their wall?
"Shake It Up"
Don't worry Selenators, Selena Gomez's other Disney Channel theme charted much higher.
Instantly memorable and just so, so weird. Love you forever, Erik von Detten.
"The Suite Life of Zack and Cody"
We're still waiting for Ashley Tisdale to release a cover of this. How suite would that be?
"The Famous Jett Jackson"
Remember Youngstown? Prepare to take a deep dive into your childhood with this one.
"Austin & Ally"
Ross Lynch, guys. He's so dreamy.
"Wizards of Waverly Place"
Now, this is SelGo's finest Disney Channel work.
Is there a better song that captures adolescence? Nope. #LizzeAndGordoForever
"That's So Raven"
Raven-Symoné was -- and still is -- everything.
"Sonny With a Chance"
We miss the days when Demi was the reigning pop-rock queen of the Disney Channel.
Admit it, you know every single word.
It's still considered one of Christina Milian's best songs, tbh.
"Girl Meets World"
It's just so darn catchy and cute! There hasn't been a song about BFFs that's this good since Miley Cyrus and Emily Osment's "Wherever I Go." Sabrina Carpenter is definitely Disney's next big star.
"The Proud Family"
One word: Beyonce.
Because duh! You get the best of both worlds with this one: Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana. Also, we're still dying to know what made Miley LOL.
