During his monologue on Friday (Feb. 6), the temporary “Late Late Show” host chatted about going to the Grammys this weekend. But instead of discussing drab things like his suit choice or whether or not his on-again GF Katy Perry will let Left Shark tag along, he shocked viewers by cracking a joke about his famous ex.
“You can see me at the Grammys doing what I do best: being avoided by Taylor Swift,” he said, before acting out their imagined run-in and quipping, “That won’t make the internet at all.”
Hmm...maybe Katy’s rumored feud with Taylor inspired that jab?
Oddly enough, Taylor’s bestie Ed Sheeran was Mayer’s guest on the show that night, and the guitar masters are even slated to perform together at the Grammys.
While we’re sure Tay could use the diss as inspiration for “Dear John: Part 2,” we’re betting she’ll shake this one right off.
