It appears that we won't be seeing any arresting cologne ads featuring "Hot Convict" any time soon. He's been sentenced to 27 months in prison.
Jeremy Meeks rose to infamy last summer when his mugshot, which looked more like a headshot, went viral. The public quickly developed guilty pleasure crushes, dubbed him "Hot Felon" and began creating countless memes.
His striking blue eyes (framed, appropriately, with a tear drop tattoo) even landed him a contract with Blaze Models. Meeks' rise to fame was so explosive that he enlisted the services of publicist Gina Rodriguez, a former porn star who now specializes in representing "special" clients like Octomom and Tan Mom.
What appeared to be a burgeoning modeling career took a turn for the realistic when Meeks arrived in court on July 7, 2014, to learn that his “felon in possession of a firearm” charge would be handled by federal prosecutors.
On Thursday, U.S. Attorney Benjamin Wagner’s office convicted Meeks of said charge. He was given over two years in prison and ordered to complete a 500-Hour Bureau of Prisons Substance Abuse Treatment Program. The judge also slapped him with a $100 fine, which he's incapable of paying at this time. Perhaps he'll land an underwear campaign in 2017 that will compensate him well enough to take care of that. He certainly has plenty of time to fine tune his abs and perfect his "smize."
