Jamaica Protests Village People

Religious leaders in Jamaica are protesting an upcoming concert by the Village People, arguing that the U.S. '70s-era disco band made famous by its hits "YMCA" and "Macho Man" should not be allowed to perform because the group is popular in the gay community, according to the Associated Press. Concert promoter Ronnie Nasralla countered that protesters were overreacting and stressed that the band's members have never declared their own sexual orientations.
