MTV Movie Brawl 2015: And The Winner Is...

The movies! The movies won.

After millions of votes, a month of voting, furious tweets and 30 worthy contenders falling before their swords (or in one case, bow), the MTV Movie Brawl 2015 -- the fight to determine your most anticipated movie of 2015 -- came down to two movies, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," and "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials."

Both sequels fought long, and hard, but ultimately in the battle of Katniss vs. Thomas, only one hero could survive. So without further ado, the most anticipated movie of 2015 is...

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2"! Which isn't too much of a surprise, right? As much as we're dying to know what will happen to the Gladers next, that series won't conclude for another year, at least. On the other hand you have "Mockingjay - Part 2," which isn't just tying up the biggest movie of 2014, it's also wrapping up one of the biggest movie series of all time.

And one of the stars, Josh Hutcherson, sent a quote over our way to let you, the fans, know how much your votes matter:

Josh Hutcherson - MTV Movie Brawl

In just a few short months, we'll know the final fates of our favorite Tributes, from Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), to Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and beyond. And whatever happens, who lives, and who dies, we know we won't want to be anywhere but the movie theater on November 20.

It's fitting, after all, as the first movie lost out to surprise winner "Cosmopolis" in 2012, handily beat competitors with "Catching Fire" in 2013, and then got nudged out by the spunky spy "Veronica Mars" in 2014. And now, once again, Katniss has taken the top spot just in time to close out her adventures in Panem.

So let's raise a three-fingered salute in honor of "Mockingjay - Part 2." Looks like the odds were ever in their favor!
