Mutants Are Coming: This 'Game Of Thrones' Star Just Joined The New 'X-Men'
The "X-Men: Apocalypse" casting rumors are rumors no more! Director Bryan Singer just announced the three newest mutants on the block, and we're officially headed into "Game of Thrones" crossover territory.
Singer revealed that three of the original movie X-Men — Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm — are back for the upcoming "Apocalypse," with young new actors Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner and Alexandra Shipp replacing James Marsden, Famke Janssen and Halle Berry, respectively. Each choice is great, but any and all "Thrones" fans (like yours truly) should be losing their minds about Sansa Stark playing Jean Grey.
You don't care? Are you crazy? Turner's perfect, capable of playing Jean's poise…
Her joy…
Her sorrow…
Her darkness…
Did we mention her darkness?
Because there is darkness.
Anyway, for her part, Sophie is freaking pumped about joining the "X-Men" movies, if her kneejerk Twitter reaction is any indication.
In short, Jean Grey? More like Jean GREAT CASTING.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" arrives on May 27, 2016.
