You know how Michael Sam got engaged last week? Well, now we've got photos from the moment he proposed to
boyfriend fiancé Vito Cammisano, and they're beyond, beyond, beyond romantic.
The first pic shows Michael -- who, as you know, became the first openly gay football player to be drafted into the NFL before ultimately being released as a free agent -- on bended knee, grinning like crazy as he popped the question.
Vito shared an equally smiley photo of his own on Friday (January 16). Not to be everybody's OTT aunt from Long Island, but SHOW US THE RING.
Didn't I say the photos were romantic? Like, if these popped up on my Facebook feed, I wouldn't even feel bitter and hateful. Just happy for them. This is a big moment for me.
The pictures were taken in Vatican City, one of the many stops Sam and Cammisano made while on a European vacation celebrating the former's 25th birthday.
On a slightly related note, the Associated Press reports that the Supreme Court will soon decide whether the Constitution grants same-sex couples the right to get married anywhere in the U.S.
